We would like to invite you to participate in a selection process for the succession of Prof. Rubik (i.e. a new professor for British Literature). For this, we need 10 to 15 students who would volunteer to participate in a three-day hearing process from the 16th to the 18th of March (programme below).
The proceedings are as follows: First, the candidates will give an academic lecture (approx. 35 minutes), followed by a fifteen-minute discussion. This will be followed by an interview with the committee (approx. 30 minutes), which is not open to the public – meaning that your presence is not required. However, after the interview, the candidates will be asked to teach a trial class – with you, if you are interested. In this trial class, the candidates will give a brief lecture (approx. 20 minutes), followed by an interactive session with the students (10 to 15 minutes). The interactive sessions will take place with the students – you – exclusively, but you will be expected to prepare the texts (poems or short stories) which were chosen by the candidates as the basis for this trial class. We would need your feedback on these interactive sessions to report back to the committee afterwards.
If you would like to participate and ideally have time during all 3 days, please let us know via e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. You will be excused for classes you have during that time.
