Are you interested in taking part in the process of selecting a new professor at our department? Are you interested in American Literature or/and Cultural Studies and would like to get to know some experts in those fields?
If you are, we would like to invite you to participate in a selection process for the succession of Prof. Däwes (i.e. a new professor for American Literature and Culture). For this, we need 10 to 15 students who would volunteer to participate in a two-day hearing process on the 16th and the 17th of December.
The proceedings are as follows: First, the candidates will give an academic lecture (approx. 30 minutes), followed by a fifteen-minute discussion. Then, the candidates will teach a trial class with you, if you are interested. In this trial class, the candidates will give a brief lecture (approx. 20 minutes), followed by an interactive session with the students (approx. 20 minutes) and discussion with the candidates (approx. 20 Minutes). We would need your feedback on these interactive sessions to report back to the committee afterwards.
If you would like to participate and ideally are free to attend on both days, just send and e-mail with the subject ‘Amerikanistik hearings’ to firstname.lastname@example.org to register. We will then provide you with all the details via e-mail. The SPL has confirmed that you will be excused for classes you have during that time.
