Institute for the International Education of Students (IES) is currently looking for any fluent German speakers who are interested in being paired up with an American language buddy (American university student) to help each other practice the two languages.
The only requirement of the program is to meet your buddy once a week in order to have a conversation! The purpose of this program is to not only practice English/German, but to get to know the other person’s culture. There will also be a few Language Buddy events throughout the semester so you can meet more of our students. Attendance is not mandatory, but encouraged.
The program would only last from October 2019 to mid-December 2019, as the students will return to the U.S. then.
If you are interested or have friends who are interested, please send the answers to the questions below to firstname.lastname@example.org. The students will read your answers and will pick you based on what you write, so please be as detailed as you can!
Language Buddy Questions
2. What are your interests and hobbies?
3. How old are you?
4. How should your buddy contact you? (email, text, etc.) Please share your email address and/or phone number here:
5. Is there anything else you would like to share about yourself?
Examples: special talents, favorite type of music, favorite vacation destination, favorite tv show, etc. In other words, here you can share anything random about yourself
Please note: a few of the students are not American, so if you would only like an American buddy, please specify this in your application. These students study at an American University in the U.S., but are international students there.
Use this chance to meet different cultures and enrich your experience!
